Body of Work - Colour and mood

Welcome to my ‘Body of Work’ - “Colour and Mood”, a portraiture, fashion and fine art nude project with Sydney model Nikki.

There is not only symbolism in the use of colour but a psychological effect as well. Colour can denote various concepts and meanings in different cultures along with impacting on our emotions, our appetite and our energy levels. Examples I've showcased are; Black - apart from being fashionable Black is usually seen as a colour of authority and power. It can also imply submission. Red - it is the most emotionally intense colour and is capable of increasing heartbeat and feelings of passion. It can also imply love.

Whatever the colour there is no doubt the effect its use can have on any image.

MODEL REFERENCE:

Along with her looks and charming personality Nikki possesses an excellent artistic appreciation and intuitiveness for the pose that easily achieves the intended aim of each image. During a photoshoot these attributes have empowered her to greatly enhance the fluid creativity and compositional design of any scene. She proficiently exudes the sought for emotive expressions and each pose that she creates invokes the desired visual response. With her capabilites across the genres of portraiture, fashion and fine art nudes Nikki proves herself a most versatile and talented artist. I highly commend Nikki as a model to other photographers.
